Brooklyn's Basketball Season is Over.

Brooklyn's basketball season has come to an end and even though they struggled throughout the season Brooklyn had a lot of fun (thanks to her other girl friends). Brooklyn's team was the only one with three girls and only one other team had two. There were even a couple of teams with no girls. In a game that gets dominated by the boys sometimes it was interesting watching them play. The main thing is that they had a lot of fun and are starting to develop a passion for the game. I think Jennie and Randy are both glad to be done. There is another league in March but it is boys and girls again and we may wait until third grade to put Brooklyn back in. That way she will play against and with all girls. Plus she will be starting soccer and swimming again and will be quite busy. Pictures and video were hard to come by with Jennie coaching and Payton wanting to run all around the place. I did manage to get a few so here you go. The top picture is the "Girl Power" (Meghan, Alexa and Brooklyn).

We need to work with Brooklyn on moving around and trying to get open. She is one of the tallest kids in the league but likes to come up to the three point line and call for the ball.

Here she is cutting to the hole but the boys on her team tend to not pass and take the ball themselves.

This would have been a really good picture if it weren't for the ref. Brooklyn is not afraid to shoot and these shots will eventually start to fall on a regular basis.

Not sure about the angle of this shot but it actually almost went in.

This may have actually been a picture of one that went in. I think she made two baskets during the year and I know I got a picture of one of them.

Jennie and her assistant coach (Nolan) under the basket giving instructions. Check out the killer boots.

To celebrate the end of the season I took Brooklyn to the CAV's vs. Heat game this past Thursday. It was a TNT televised game which mean it didn't start until 8:00 which made for a long night. By half time she was getting tired. She actually started to doze off during the 3rd and 4th quarters. Not sure how she could sleep during all the noise and racket but she did. Finally with about 4 minutes left to go and the CAV's up by 16 I decided it was probably safe to leave. I thin we got home a little after 11:00 but she did a good job at getting up the next morning and getting ready for school so all is well. I told her that night that if she gave mom any problems in the morning I wouldn't be able to take her again so she must want to go again. It was kind of cool because she got to go down on the floor before the game and take pictures of the teams warming up. I dropped the camera off at WalMart and can't wait to see how the pictures come out. I know that Maddux got to do the same thing last year and it is funny to see the pictures they take and what they are looking at during the game. I hope to scan some of those next week and post them. It was a fun night and as much fun as they have I think I enjoy it more. I love to watch basketball and am glad that I can take the kids knowing that they will have a fun time.
