Happy Halloween!!

Our Halloween weekend started with a Halloween party at our Church on Friday night. The kids got to dress up in their costumes and go around to the different rooms playing games and collecting candy. The kids always have fun and it is a nice, safe way to warm the kids up for the real thing.

Payton in her witch costume ready to get some treats.

Nolan sporting the wolverine costume with flip flops.

Maddux (as a zombie) and one of his friends, Christopher, as a pirate.

Brooklyn as a fashion mod scarfing some cotton-candy.

Then Saturday I took the kids to the IX Center's Trick-or-Treat Street for some good safe fun. They set up a mini neighborhood for the kids to trick-or-treat through and then have lots of carnival rides for them to ride. We went last year for the first time and the kids really loved it. It is nice that they offer discount tickets through the kids school so it is some very inexpensive fun.

The kids at the entrance in front of the giant pumpkin.

The kids with the big scary skeleton.

Shaggy and Scooby made a special guest appearance and the kids had to get a picture.

Payton in her froggy costume. She had an accident in the witch costume and had to make a last minute change.

The boys on one of the mini roller-coasters.

Then on Monday it was time for the real thing. It was a little cold but we were dry and the kids had a blast. It is always fun trick-or-treating with the cousins and provides for a lot of fun.

Cannon, Nolan, Maddux, Brooklyn and Brynnley getting ready to be turned loose on the neighborhood.

Cambrie and Payton excited to get some candy.

Maddux with his football buddy AJ.

This is what the first 45 minutes looked like. It was a mad dash from house to house to get as much candy as possible. Nolan wore out after that and started taking some houses off because he was tired. As you will see in the next picture, the hustle paid off.

This is the stash that was collected for the night. I don't know that they have ever gotten that much candy. It was crazy because the bags that Maddux and Nolan were carrying actually filled all the way up and they started dropping candy. It was a lot of fun and we will be eating candy for the next 6 months. We hope everyone had a safe and Happy Halloween and got lots of candy.

I wish I could make their candy last 6 months! Even though I continually hide it...they find it.
