Soccer Update

This has probably been the longest time in between blogs for me since I started and I apologize. I have had my father here for the last week and a half and we have been super busy. I also have been trying to upload some video of the kids soccer games to post and finally got the last of it done tonight.

Brooklyn has a new coach and there has been a huge improvement in their game. They have actually scored goals in the last two games, something that they didn't do at all last year or the first game of the season. They are being taught offense drills and have done a much better job. They have still not won a game yet but have had close games and are playing a lot better. I look forward to watching her progress during the year while having a lot of fun. Brooklyn has been playing some goalie the last couple of games and has done a great job at stopping the ball. She finally has figured out that she can pick the ball up and throw or kick it out to one of her teammates. Here is a little video of her in action.

Maddux has been his usual self over the last 2 games although they finally lost a game. They came across a team that had a pretty good kid who could stay up with Maddux. Plus Maddux had stayed up til 11:00 the night before, at Brooklyn's birthday sleepover, and then had karate at 9:00 in the morning before his game. Needless to say he was a little tired. The game prior to that he had 5 goals including one for the other team. He is still having a blast and a very busy boy. He was moved up into an advanced class for karate and now goes 2 times a week. He then has baseball 2 times a week and soccer two times a week. He seems to be enjoying all and will continue to do all three until he shows signs of wear-out. He is our little athlete. Here is some video of his games and some of his goals. I wanted to capture his break away speed and got some good footage. Never mind the obnoxious guy yelling in the background.

Nice stuff - but Maddux's soccer team looks like a big heard of little kids - at least he has some speed to separate himself from the pack!!!

Brooklyn plays like her mother did at that age - wait till she gets the killer instincts of her dad!!!
