Happy New Year

Well 2009 is upon us and here is a quick recap of our last night in 2008.

Here are Maddux and Nolan in their matching Hulk pajamas. Nolan loves these pajamas and has asked to wear them the last three nights. They will eventually need to be washed.

I found this Monster Boxing at Marc's and had to get it for the kids. They are giant inflatable boxing gloves and a 5 foot inflatable punching bag. This is exactly what the boys need as they are always hitting on someone or something. Now they won't get in trouble for it.

Look at that right cross!!

Maddux showing his power and.....................

.........another mean right cross.

That night we all went over to Grandma and Grandpa's house to eat, play games, and hang out as a family. This was about the 6th or 7th day in a row the kids got to play with their cousins and they wouldn't have it any other way. The highlight of the evening may have been when Grandpa gave all the kids a horse back ride all at the same time.

This is how it started.........................

....then the horse started to buck them off............

.....then they got back on and the horse crumbled under the weight.......

.....until he was done.

It is nice to have Great Grandma Elaine back and even though it is taking her a little time to get adjusted back to everything she loves to spend time with the great grandkids; especially Payton and Cambrie.

We concluded the night with some Pictureka, Rhino Rampage, and Uno while we waited for the clock to strike midnight.

Pictureka is kind of like I Spy, which the kids love. You have to find different objects or things before the others in order to win.

Kenzie and Nolan helped themselves to a game of Electronic Guess Who. I think they were more interested in hitting the buttons to make the sounds than they were to play the game.

I was very surprised that all the kids but one, Maddux, made it to midnight. I guess he may have played a little too hard.

We are grateful to grandpa and grandma for having us all come over and hang out at their house. Not only did they open up their house but they also decided they would let all the kids have a sleepover that night. So the moms and dads got to go home without most of the kids. I know they loved that and not sure how much sleep they actually got.

Grandpa and Grandma must not have got enough that night because two days later they offered to take all the kids to see the new Adam Sandler movie "Bedtime Stories." The kids had a blast and enjoyed the movie, which also starred their cousin's (Lauren) husband Nate. He didn't have a huge part but they liked the fact that they got to see someone they know if a movie. It was kind of funny because I asked Maddux if he liked the movie and if he saw Nate and he said yes but he didn't like Nate's friends. I asked him why and he said because he kicked Adam Sandler in the leg and wasn't very nice. I guess there is a part where one of the characters comes up and kicks Adam in the leg and then goes and hops back into the car. Well Nate is sitting in the backseat with his hat on backwards so Maddux assumed that he was Nate's friend. Anyways, the kids had a good time and have got to see an awful lot of their cousins over the last two weeks. I am sure they are going to go through so withdrawals when they have to go back to school next week and can't hang out with each other every day.

Well we hope that everyone had a good 2008 and wish you and your family the very best for 2009.

It's almost hard looking at your blog to see all the fun we miss out on with the cousins. We just hope there are some big plans for when we come out in March to make up for all that we've missed. love the boxing gloves!
